WHAT YOU'LL SEE
Built in 1832, the late-Federal and Greek Revival house is considered one
of the finest surviving examples of the architecture of the period. Three floors
and eight period rooms display the possessions of the merchant family that lived in the house for 100 years -- from 1835 to 1933 -- including their furnishings, clothing, and personal items. Our 19th-century garden is also open for viewing.
A recent visitor wrote: "I've never experienced such a closeness with a bygone era. I was enthralled."
