"Sea Bright"

The Tredwells' Country House in Rumson, New Jersey

During 1832 and 1833, Seabury Tredwell purchased a total of 750 acres of property in Rumson, New Jersey. This property contained a Georgian-style mid-18th century house, which is still standing. Between 1832-1928, the Tredwell family spent summers in the house. In 1928, at the age of 89, Gertrude Tredwell sold the property to Daniel Mears.
