Tours & Afternoon Tea at the Merchant’s House Museum
The Merchant’s House Museum, Manhattan’s “best-preserved” (The New York Times)19th-century family home and garden, serves up engaging information and authentic afternoon tea for private groups.
The two-hour program includes a 45-minute presentation about life at home in 19th-century New York City as well as a leisurely and elegant hour-long afternoon tea with full table service.
Afternoon Tea Menu
Traditional afternoon tea is the equivalent of a light meal, including:
- A selection of savory tea sandwiches (vegetarian available by request)
- Scottish scones accompanied by fresh cream and a variety of jams and jellies
- Miniature cakes, cookies, and other delicacies
- Pots of freshly brewed tea, including the fragrant ‘Tredwell’ blend
Custom menus are available; call for information and pricing.
Groups & Pricing
The Museum can accommodate groups of 10 to 50 people.* Seating may be arranged in the historic garden (weather permitting) or cozy ground-floor family room and period kitchen.
10-15 people: $600
16-50 people: $40 per person
*Groups of 25 or more may be split into two seatings
