Volunteer Opportunities & Academic Internships
We offer endless opportunities for giving your time to the Merchant's House Museum.
Volunteer Opportunities. The Museum needs your experience and expertise, e.g., for:
- Greeting visitors and aswering questions about the House.
- Planning, organizing, and helping during programs, events, and benefits
- Mailings and other office tasks
- Historical research
- Assisting with curatorial projects
- "Spring cleaning” of the house and curatorial maintenance
- Soliciting in-kind donations of goods and services.
- And much more!

Academic Internships. Select academic internships are available in various fields, e.g., decorative arts, textiles and costumes, architecture, museum administration. In addition to projects in their specialized field, all interns take part in the daily operations of the Museum, thereby gaining a comprehensive picture of what it's like to work in an historic house.
